Your progress thus far?

Post by Nostalgiascape » Sat Oct 02, 2010 11:36 pm

How much of Halloween preparation have you already taken care of and how much do you have left to do?

I'm completely prepared, as usual. I know exactly what I'm doing, what I need to get, where to get it and when I'll do it.
(I have some compulsive tendancies, like the need to plan and schedule every moment of my life, but for halloween it works in my favor =D )

Lots! I started on Halloweenmonth Day, and got my fence and tombstones up, hung the skeletons from my skeleton tree, the severed limbs from the limb tree, the shrunken heads from the shrunken head tree (see a pattern?), and put up four of my monsters (Mad Axeman, Vampire Banshee, Tall Ghoul [had to replace the old mask I used to use with a new Rotting Ralph, but he looks wicked!], and my oldest reaper made from a skeleton model). Yesterday, I put up most of the mini-orange lights and four more monsters (Brown Cloak Ghoul, Fishnet Blond Ghoul, Candysign Scarcrowskull, and my other reaper [this one made from a matching set of skeleton mask and hands]). Today, I put up four more monsters (Jason, Witch, Ghost, and Corpse [I hung her from a meat hook in the severed limbs tree this year, right in front!]).

I think this is the most I've had up by the third; I'm hoping to have nearly everything up by next weekend. Pictures to come!

can't wait to see those! I used to have a spooky tree in my yard which would have been perfect to hang limbs or something from, but it was old and dead and was removed by concerned city workers :(

I cut rat and bat silhouettes out. Lots of fun.

How did you get the rat to hold still long enough to trace it??

Spiked some cheese with a little whiskey to make him more compliant. Don't try this though, turns out rats are terribly violent drunks.

Whereas bats become overly affectionate, and spiders become very philosophical.

I still don't have everything out, my poor sick cat is taking up sooo much of my time, she has a feeding tube, that I have to feed her with for the next month or so. :(

I did go to the pumpkin patch for 2 hours today, that was a blast!!
