Okay, I'm am trying my hand at corpsing a head....

Here is what I am starting with, a plastic skull I bought several years ago from Michaels about $12 (no longer available)

Image

I layered tape on it just as I did my corpse arm sconce and covered it with one layer of latex

next step is to layer cotton and latex on to form "skin"....stay tuned......

this is already looking to be a huge success :) you're making me want to go and get some latex and start practising... next year i think latex will be my new project :)

I gloped on the latex thick in some areas (where the white blops are) and today I will start with the latex/cotton skin layer

yes, you take cotton balls or cotton batting or any type of cotton and stretch it out, paint on some latex, lay the cotton in it then brush on more latex over the cotton, it makes a simulated skin.

heres an example

the latex I am using, yes, Hobby Lobby or Michaels, it's called Mold Builder liquid latex rubber. As with anything else, you can buy better latex for more money but this works for me so far....

okay, I started adding the cotton/latex layer tonight and I think it looks pretty good.

Right now it looks like the mummy but remember the cotton and latex are white, it wont be white when it's all dont ;)

this is an over all look of the front.

this one shows the ligament in the jaw area.

this is showing the ligaments in the jaw and some low areas that hopefully will look like exposed bone area.

this will be a large exposed bone area.

Oh great! Thanks a lot spooky... your subjectline has me thinking about the old Fish Heads song, but I keep replacing the main line with 'corpse head'.

"Corpse heads, corpse heads... eat them up, yum!"

Can't..... get it...... out...... of my...... head!!!!

this took up about half the latex, I didnt think it would take as much as this but it did. If you plan on doing this make sure you get a few cheap 1 inch wide bristle brushes, dont use the foam brushes, the foam grabs and pulls the cotton and makes a big mess, the bristle brushes will coat the cotton.
