How about a handsome, dashing, and highly intelligent bird, preferably a Raven?
I agree with Spooky, something really scary. Hard to give ideas without knowing what kind of game it's going to be. Adventure? Role-play? Puzzle? Would be interesting to delve into the roots of Halloween, incorporate Samhain and other Pagan origins into it.
