I'm looking for a really good caramel apple recipe. The ready made ones I buy at the market are always moldy or rotten on the inside.
Is it better to use a premade dip or to melt your own caramel? I would love to see some favorite recipes.

I got my caramel apple recipe from here: Just do a search and type in caramel apples ...there are different recipes, but all good.

I also make chocolate covered apples too, and put sprinkles, crushed nuts, gummy worms, and m & M's on them. They are yummy too.
All you do is melt chocolate chips on low heat, with a gob of Crisco shortening, and dip them in it, and let them dry on wax paper.

I think I'm a purist when it comes to caramel apples. I don't know if I would like chocolate. My only worry is that I'll find a wonderful recipe and be able to make caramel apples all year round. I would have them for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks 365 days a year.
