Tonight (Tuesday 1st November) I shall be continuing Halloween.

My lit lantern will once again be clearly placed in my window.

I will be doing this each and every night from now on.

Until I announce otherwise upon this thread.

Are you continuing Halloween 2011?

As usual, I'll finish off my Halloween season on the 5th by building a bonfire in my barbeque, watching 'V for Vendetta' and eating the rest of my leftover candy. If any kids come by asking for pennies I'll give em one. "Remember, remember the fifth of November..."

Tomorrow is All Soul's Day so I'll head down to Old Town San Diego and see what's hapning. In the meantime, I'll keep watching spooky movies and scaring my roommate.

I like that tradition and I have my Halloween lights on yet and probably will until Thursday or Friday this week...Halloween continues for me year round...always has...

For me, Halloween starts on the 28th or 29th of September and continues through the 2nd of November. Unfortunately, I have a relly busy schedule over the next 3 weeks with photo shoots and Christmas cleaning, so this year I am going to have to break tradition and take down the decorations tonight instead of tomorrow the 3rd. I won't enjoy doing that, but to keep the tradition alive, I will screen "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" and a "Dark Shadows" episode after everythign is put away for the year.

Believe it or not, I am already thinking in terms, and starting this Thursday (Pay day) I am going to start putting a few bucks here and there aside for 'Haunted road trips" and more Halloween celebrations for the 'big day' in 2012. AND, 2012 is a banner year for "Little Halloween," too so don't miss out on th at. January, April and July.

Due to being busy the rest of the week, we have today taken most of our decorations down. However I will be lighting my Jack Skellington tealight holder that I bought this year all year round. :)

Halloween is a state of mind though & will last all year round & forever.

I do also love Christmas too & decorate for that as well!

Thank you for all your very thoughtful and considered replies.

I must confess that I thought you would consider my suggestion "a little nuts".

It's somehow reassuring to know that those who are not nuts are in the minority on this forum.

My own Halloween 2011 will continue until I announce otherwise on this thread.

I hope more of you will consider continuing Halloween 2011.

I've moved on-- time to plan 2012. Time to write a novel (it is November and November is National Novel Writing Month)....

It is kind of sad, but this year I had to cut the Halloween season a day short due to my photo schedule and Christmas Cleaning. I am going to be out to all hours of the night tonight and tomorrow night, and I am working Saturday morning, and then I have to start my Christmas cleaning. So, yesterday was my only oportunity to take down the Halloween decorations before I had to start my Christmas cleaning. And believe it or not, I now wish I had observed tradition and left the decorations up and just took them down on Saturday. But it's a pretty big job, and the Christmas cleaning takes up a lot of my time.

Go figure. I am never this "wishy washy" about Halloween tradition, but I do have a very grueling schedule ahead of me for the next few weeks. Thank God it will soon be Thanksgiving vacation.
