I am so jonesing for fall and Halloween. Every little smell...every little thing....

I'm a little worried. I don't think it's gonna happen for me this year... the Halloween spirit. I can't seem to find my way beyond the current hour, much less the current season.

Maybe if I could get my hands on some pumpkin pie....

All week I couldn't wait to go shopping this weekend for supplies for this coming fall and Halloween. I went out yesterday morning and picked up some black, orange and cream felt, black and grey texture paint (for my tombstones), and I got some Halloween-themed rolls of ribbon from Michaels. I was excited that they already have their Fall floral stuff out. Yea! It can be tough to find project supplies so early but if you look hard enough you can. We're getting closer...

Well, I'm not that jonesed, but I will probably get the 'bug' around the en of August, or even when I get back from my vacation.

I have had it for a while now!!! I am so super excited. I usually start decorating when the stores start to put things out and thats usually around the end of August!

A quiet place to think on your favorite halloween memories. Just close your eyes and remember all you like. That does help.

I'm trying to avoid trips down Memory Lane, because it leads straight to Depression Alley. I'm gonna do my best to stick to Denial Avenue.

It really doesn't hit me too hard until the weather starts getting cool, and the gosh darn humidity leaves central Virginia which can be as late as the first of september.

I love the Texas heat but man... I love Halloween more. I don't start getting in the spirit until about right before Thanksgiving, that's the time it cools off down here.

If I waited for the weather to get cool here I'd be waiting until November, at least the nights start cooling off by the end of October.

I'm still enjoying Summer. I am planning on barbecuing either a standing rib roast or a beef tenderloin for my birthday comming up in a couple of weeks, and I am going on vacation right afterwords. I won't be doing a lot of traveling, but I do plan to make a few 'haunted' road trips during that time. I also plan to head up to the dunes, but when my vacation is over, it will be close tomid August, and that's when I start seeing all the Halloween decorations start to appear in the various stores.

I am also going to make at least one significant 'haunted road trip' this October so I can contribute to the Halloween spirit when the big day grows closer.

Heck, I passed the Half-Century point last July. I'll be 51 on the 24th. I am going to order my roast next weekend.
