Steelville Mo, is having Halloween tonight on the 30th so as not to hold it on a school or work night. So my Halloween will be a traditional one wherein i'll be passing out candy. But to me it will always be on the 31st so I'm having a 2 day Halloween.

I like the idea of a two-day Halloween, especially since it fell on a Sunday this year. It makes it last longer since it's more drawn out like that. I remember one Halloween in particular when I was a kid, where we went trick-or-treating two days because the holiday fell over the weekend.

Our town is kinda lame we only have it on Oct 31, and our town doesn't do much!! When my kids were younger we use to go to Picnikville, and they had a parade & a dance in a huge barn on one day them they and trick or treating on another day, they went all out, I miss that!!!

Nastalgiascape, I've been celebrating Halloween since September 28th, and am still celebrating it, and will be celebrating it through the rest of tonight and through tomorrow. The decorations come down for the year on wednesday the 3rd.

Through the 5th?? I think Halloween is a 3 day affair, which includes All Hallows Eve (the big day itself) All Saints Day and All Souls Day. I usualy take the decorations down on the 3rd, but I had them lit last night. Out town does leave up the public Halloween decorations until the 5th come to think of it.

That's strange.... some people around here usually leave lights up till the 5th of November, but all of props and other things put up on the 3rd of November. Still, I have pumpkin right here outside.... I am going to lit my pumpkin tonight and tomorrow night before throwing it in the trash can Friday morning.

More power to you, iHaunt. In reality, I might have kept one of my jack o'lanterns until yesterday, except that I have to put out the trash on Tuesday night for pick-up on Wednesday morning. If I miss trash night then the trash rots in my mud room until the next Trash night. And as much as I love halloween jack o'lanterns, there's nothing worse thent he smell of a rotten pumpkin. Maybe next year, I'll leave the lights up until the weekend after Halloween or the 5th, but November is when I usualy get my holiday cleaning done, so I'll probably take then down on the 3rd.

The first few weeks in my apartment I kept trying to figure out wtf that smell was. Then I removed some pans the last tenant had left behind and found a juicy white potatoe behind them.
