Hi. Anybody else watch that last night? It was a documentary on the making of John Carpenters Halloween. It was really a good TV watching experience. I forget how damn great that movie is and that documentary reminded me why it's still in my Top 5 favorite movies of all time.

I remember my older sister telling me about "Halloween" back when it first came out. I was 10, she 14. It sounded freaking freaky, especially her telling me about the clothes hanger scene where The Shape gets the bad end in the eye socket. As soon as I had a chance to watch it (probably not until years later) I jumped all over it and it's been a favorite of mine ever since. That opening shot is phenomenal!

Of course, as soon the documentary was over, I was compelled to pop in the DVD for my annual viewing.

Happy Halloween!

I saw a documentary on AMC a couple of mornings ago about the movie. I think it was called Backstory or something.

Don't forget that tonight the History Channel will have "The True Story of Halloween". This one is about the holiday. However, at the same time Halloween 3 will be airing on AMC. What to choose....????

I suggest the documentary. The movie you can catch any time but many of these documentaries are seasonal and only appear once during the year.

One thing they failed to mention while they were talking about all the holiday horror knockoffs that followed Halloween, was that Halloween was itself an imitator of a previous movie that inspired it called "Black Christmas" (1975).
