Going to the pumpkin patch tomorrow.....

Post by Winnie Sanderson » Thu Oct 04, 2007 6:07 pm

I am soooooo excited I can hardly stand it.... My son who will be 5 on October 30th goes to a school for children with autism. I asked the director if we could take the kids to the pumpkin patch for the very first time and she said get the details and let me know....Well I set up a group tour for us. We have 7 children with autism ranging in age from 4 to 9 going tomorrow and 11 adults. I can not wait because, except for my son, none of the other kids have gone to the pumpkin patch before. This is going to be such a great experience for them....they have been learning about fall and pumpkins in school and they are excited to go.

I am probably the most excited kid of all though....
Happy Halloween!!

Is it the most sincere Pumpkin path ever? On Halloween night, the great Pumpkin will appear to give out presents to good little girls and boys. You'll be able to see him with your ooown eeeyes.
The dark night beckons. Bear us your soul, it whispers. Expose your wicked delights. Join the rest of us on the wind. The dark night beckons and we answer. Sailing into the shadows.

whewwwww it has been a day.....We had such a fabulous time today. This was a wonderful experience for the kids. I am so glad we took them. Funny thing though.....for kids who have such issues with appropriate social behaviors/lack of understanding social situations they were the most behaved kids there. I have to post some pictures when I get them back. Thanks to all who replied to me.... :D

The farm was really nice. It was sad to hear about the bad crop this year. They planted 60 acres of pumpkins and only 10 acres survived, because of the drought we have had here. It affected the cotton crops too. We were very lucky to go pick our pumpkins off the vine. They were beautiful pumpkins the kids all picked. They had to get pumpkins from an Amish farm and Pennsylvania to make it through to Halloween.

I think next year we are going to plant our own on one of our acres.
Happy Halloween!!
