This might not be a fair question, because everyone has their own favorites, likes, dislikes. But what do you think is the defining symbol of Halloween.
To me it is clear. The Jack-o-lantern!
What does everyone think?

Yep. Pumpkins.
With Witches on Broomsticks a close second.

I also say that it would be the Jack O Lantern ...and whenever I see the colors black and orange together I get excited... I remember walking in a store in May and far away my eye immediately went to a black and orange something I was so excited ....could it be....it couldn't be a Halloween something could it....I wove my way through customers focusing on the colors that bring delight to my soul...and finally I stood before the display.............
it was a rubber raft with black graphics and oar supports....Oh welll for a min there I was in heaven

I so wish that I could get away with displaying my pumpkin/jack-o-lantern collection all year long....to see them everywhere is so comforting, to smell pumpkin candles is so relaxing, and to have pumpkin pie, mmmmmm
....well it's
almost the most delicious treat on the planet.
Yep, those jack-o-lanterns define Halloween...

We don't have orange pumpkins in New Zealand, just fake plastic light up ones.
The colour Orange symbolizes Halloween for me.
If I see the colour orange, I immediately think of orange pumpkins from tv - leading to Halloween.
