As you know, in August is "Dog Of The Month". Be sure to keep your dogs indoors away from sun shines and hot heat. Make sure you give them plenty of iced cold water. Feed them little bit like 1 cup in the morning and another 1 cup again in the evening.

Any more tips here?? Post here! 8)

Put ice cubes in your dog's water bowl. Some dogs enjoy sucking on them, it keeps them cool.

Of course!!! And, they also love popslices (any kinds). :D No chocolates at all period!!! Because chocolate will make dogs sick! :?

NO CHOCOLATES such as ice creams or fudge popslices!!

And also, when I made kool-aid punch and pour it in the ice cube trays and frozen them! Dogs love kool-aid ice cubes!! ;)

I'm pretty sure a dog wouldn't last very long in our house either.

The cat would see to it that an 'accident' would happen...

I have a cat. I used to have a dog, but that was a long time ago. She was a dog I rescued from the Humane Society in Pittsburgh 20 years ago. I was happy to have saved her, but that has got to be one of the saddest places to visit because you know what the fate of those poor dogs will be if no one adopts them. You feel like you wish you could take all of them home, but you can't. I cried so hard just walking through the rows. How I picked my dog was that I wanted one that was similar to another dog I couldn't take with me when I moved. My ex-boyfriend kept her, so it wasn't like I had to give her away to strangers. I missed her terribly and felt a little lonely because I had moved to another state and didn't know very many people yet. When I walked past all the cages, I swear this dog was looking at me as if to say "You know you want to take me home!" Anyway, I now have a cat. I've also had rabbits, which make very interesting pets. One thing to keep in mind about them is if you keep them as indoor pets, they will chew wood and electrical wires. You can litterbox train a rabbit as you can with a cat. Also, the males should be neutered.

Then I got a Dwarf Blue Bunny she lived 5 years, then passed away & I cried agian. Then I got Black Dwarf Bunny he died within a year. Then a nieghber brought this tiny tiny kitten over for me to babysit, the rest was history, they said they couldn't keep her, so she was mine!! I fell in love with her the very first day!!

I adopted a kitten from the pound about a yr ago, she was one of a whole litter of black kittens that were abandoned. I picked her out of the litter because she kept jumpping on me out of the cage at the pound and when I put her back she would jump on my shirt again and again, so I figured she wanted to be adopted really bad, so I picked her and they put a collar on her.
I went back the next day to fill out the paperwork and she was the only one in the cage, I asked where her litter mates were and they said they put them all to sleep that morning, and that I saved her.
I took her home, and for 6 days she would play with me, follow me around, sleep on me, attack me from under the couch, climb up my pants to be held, she was a great kitty. On the sixth day she was very lethargic, she didnt move much and didnt want to play or anything, so I took her to the vet right away and she died a few hours later from a blood disease. I miss that little kitty

Spooky, that's so sad! What a precious little kitten. It's a shame she died so young, but at least during the little bit of time she was here, she was happy and well loved. You gave her a chance. Animals can really steal our hearts.
