I get to decorate my work place for Halloween!

What do you like to decorate with? That bucket of blood?

I get to decorate my work place for Halloween!

Post by DemonSlayerMau » Sat Oct 02, 2010 9:59 pm

Wooooo! My boss said I could decorate the store I work at for Halloween!
Now, I'm thinking of getting some construction paper and writing all my co worker's names on little homemade pumpkins. I'm welcome to ideas and suggestions, I'm thinking of using things like wall hangings and window clings. It has to be low budget, no more than 20 bucks.
I already looked around at the Dollar Tree for ideas, but if anyone can come up with some cheap decorations, let me know.
This is so awesome, because last year they didn't decorate for any holidays! Not even Christmas!
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

Nice!

I'd go with construction paper cut-outs if you have time. Party City also has (or had?) some neat plastic wall cling type things and cutouts. Dollar store might have a few of those. I know Michael's has garlands of varying sorts for relatively cheap-- especially if you get one of their 40% off coupons.

Got any butcher paper? I did tombstones with funny epitaphs on them one year (listed where they were from too).... They were pretty beat up, but well used. People enjoyed reading 'em too. http://digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/quotes/epitaphs.html

... as far as "cheap" goes, that's all I have for now.

One rule of thumb, though-- don't set up anything unless you don't mind it getting ripped off.

Definitely going to go with the construction paper. :)
Unfortunately there isn't a party city in my area, but there is a Micheal's near the school I go to. I know they have great selection, I could always check them out if I get the time.
I just got some cute little window clings I could stick up. I got some for myself too, so that way if someone does decide to swipe them, I've still got my own.
Those epitaphs are funny. I think my favorite one is "I told you I was sick."
I've seen some pretty funny ones though.

The classic cut outs are always your best bet for "conservative" areas like grade schools and office settings. Especially at work because they're conversation items! They inspire a feeling of warm nostalgia for a lot of people.

Well...in the end I just ended up making the decorations, I never even used the window clings, but I may ask my boss if I could put them on the doors to the smoke shop.
Wish I had a new card for my digital camera, I would take pictures.
