My Very First Vehicle!!!!!

Post by Firefighter_Barbie » Tue Sep 22, 2009 11:48 pm

Hey everyone!

I couldn't find a thread to post this in and just had to brag :P I just bought my very first Truck...a 1983 Chevy S10 shortbox with a 305 small block and a Turbo 350 Tranny :D

Since I don't know too much about this kind of truck, I was wondering if anyone had an S10 aswell so if I need any help I have some people to turn too :)

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

That's a cute little truck, congrats! Doesn't it feel nice to drive yourself everywhere you want to go-whenever you want?

I used to have an '84 S10 longbed, it was okay while it lasted, I used it for work but eventually the carburetor started having troubles so I traded it in on a new car (a lemon). I got mine used but a new one might have been a more reliable truck. I also owned an old used beat up S10 Blazer, that was decent for an old beater, only cost me $500.....

Hey everyone, I haven't been on in a few days because I started my daycare again...so in other words if I'm not working, I'm sleeping haha :P Anyways, it's great to see a few people that have had S10's...I know their pretty popular here and a few of my boyfriend's friends have S10's, but they are all big into lowering them and making them as far from practical as possible...so needless to say I'm not letting their sticky fingers touch my truck eventhough want to "help" me haha

Nice truck FFB! Though I can think of one way to improve it. Print this out and hang it on the grill... right over the Chevy Logo ;-)

Ha! Ha! I know. That's why I gave her the wink. I guess I'm just a Ford guy. Got a '96 Ranger with almost 200k miles
on it, never had a problem with it. You believe I'm still on the original clutch?! Sometimes you just get lucky. Just
bought an F150 because I don't believe in pushing that luck.

We do have a spare car for when our Dodge "goes" but when tax time comes, we will be getting another Dodge van. My first car was a Ford Taurus and the 2nd day I had it, the engine blew (it was pretty old anyway so maybe it was expected). :D

funny, the car I traded the chevy in on was a new '89 Ford, it was as big a POS as the beat up truck I traded in.......But, the Ford did have a nice radio and was very comfy inside....too bad it didnt run well and couldnt be fixed.
