Harry Potter Fans???

Post by shanda » Wed Jul 15, 2009 12:36 pm

I went to the 12:01 premier of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince last night.
We have been fans since the 1st book came out and my kids have grown up with Harry.
There were 18 theaters showing at our local Regal.ALL 18 were full and there were people waiting for the few tickest that were left for the 3am shows!
It was my kids 1st midnight opening, and they had such a time!!!
If you are a fan of the books, you will notice what was left out of the film. Small things that makes you know the characters better.
I recomend it to all HP fans! The Deathly Hallows part 1 (yes. they are cuttint in 1/2 and making 2 films. To much info and can't edit any! Good for us readers!!) opens November 2010 unless they delay the opening like they did with #6.
Like Harry or Not, you have to give J.K.R. snaps for keeping so many people envolved with her books/films.
You know, Muggel is now listed in the dictionary.

Have you heard about the James Potter books?
Apparently, JKR authorized someone to write a book about HP's kids... so long as it was non-profit. So.... There are 1 or 2 books in the James Potter series now: http://www.elderscrossing.com/wizard.html

James Potter and the Hall of Elders' Crossing is Book 1

Book 2 is James Potter and the Curse of the Gate Keeper

I just found out about these last night!

Harry Potter's the sixth part film will hit my theater on Wednesday, July 22nd. Well, I think I am not going to see it, but I have to wait for DVD to rent it. ;)

My cousin said she's going to see it next weekend. :D I will wait to hear what she has to say about this movie.

I have thought about the movie over the last few days. I am really disappointed in it. I feel that they changed and omitted too much! I don't feel like it was true to the story.
I did enjoy the film. I love to watch the characters mature year after year. I just missed some of the story!!

I am not a big fan of the books, but the movies are great. Unfortunately, I don't have the money to go see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in theaters. I have heard many people say it was the worst one yet, so I hesitate to buy it when it comes out on DVD.

I saw the film today and it is an awesome achievement. Of course I am bothered by some of the omissions and changes. I think the burning of the borough was not in the book and did not seem to serve any purpose. The scene with Ron taking the love potion was if anything better than the book. I miss some of the excursions in the pensive, but all in all, a masterful creation. To those who cry that the movie does not faithfully follow the book, would they sit through an 8 hour long movie? The movie goes along at a steady clip and tells the story beautifully.
