Just saved myself an expensive ER bill.

All day today I haven't had much to eat. Was called into work and arrived ill-prepaired (no lunch). So when I get home after work I fix myself chicken and gravey and I tear into it. It helps to chew more and slow down. I endured "Food Impaction of the Esophogus". Baiscally a chunk of meat completely blocks the esophogus and nothing gets by, it just get forced back up through vommiting in a desperate effort to relieve compounded pressure in the food passage.

So while I am occasionally puking saliva, cause even saliva that gets by, doesnt make it past the impaction, I look up my problem through various medical sites, hence how I came to know the terminology. I had the choice of hoping it passed on its own, or going to the ER where they make it pass with some fizzy drink concoction.

Before resigning myself to an out of order medical bill, I decided, maybe its better to go to the soda machine. I grab a cola, come back, forcefully puke one more time, swallow the cola...and lo and behold and felt a sudden pressure in the old food pipe and the chunk of chicken moved on down the line as it were. hah, take that medical expenses.

I'll be in Phoenix for part of this weekend. I'm going camping in Prescott Fri night, and Saturday I'll be in town for a bit. Would stay longer, but we have to be back home for some family stuff Sunday AM. One of these days, we ought to meet up at that Halloween Store off I-17 and Bell....
