Who's afraid of the dark?

Post by Haunt Master » Wed Jul 09, 2008 3:33 pm

I don't think I am afraid of the dark as long as there is something looking creepy, and I have to be with someone else to go out in the dark.

For instance, if I see an old house with nobody lives there and no lights at all during the nite, I dare not to go inside the house unless one of the persons must be with me with flashlights, also must carry wooden bats.

Even, during the daylight outside, if I go inside darker places and I have to be with someone period!

I was not able to be in a room alone with the lights on or off. But now my fear of the dark is almost completely gone.
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

I definitely feel...uneasy...in the dark sometimes. It's just that fear of not knowing that exists in everyone at some level.

Growing up, from the day I was born 'til I was about 11, I was afraid of the dark. I wouldn't dare go into the darkness without someone by my side. I use to sleep with my bedroom lights on. Now that I'm in my 20's, I often wonder how much my parents electricity bill was each month.

Ok, someone says, "Oh, dear! Chris! Won't you listen to my verse? When I finally returned to my home, sweet home, a stranger was there! I'm an extremely scary person, and I just can't go in there to talk to someone I don't know! So... I had to put my feelins to verse! While I was gone, did you break in to practice your nightmare game!"

"A dark room settles my soul", I say.
"Do not turn on the lights", I say. ;)

I'm not afraid of the dark, not sure why. I used to deliver papers in the middle of the night. I guess if I went into a dark basement or somewhere unfamiliar I would be scared, otherwise I'm fine with the dark.

I am not afraid of the dark. Infact, I prefer the dark to the daytime. I like it here where I live because when It is dark it is pitch black. We have trees that almost block out the sun with branches and leaves. They were cut recently (sad) but they're growing back.

I'm not at all afraid of the dark. In fact, I need a totaly darkend room in order to sleep good at night. When I was a kid, my younger sister and I shared a bed room that was right off the hall way that lead from the dining room to the kitchen. She was very much afraid of the dark, and I allways had to wait until she went to sleep before I could shut off that darn kitchen light.

I can't sleep if there's lights on either. I prefer being in the dark.

Because fo that, I'm allways up early. My brother and younger sister both like to sleep in til noon on their days off from work. I'm usualy up between 7 or 8, and in June, when we have the longest days, I'm often up by 6:00 am. I can't sleep when the sun light starts sreaming in between the blinds on my windows. That's okay with me, though, because I like to have a whole day to play arond on the bike or whatever when I'm not working.

The funny thing is, though, is that I will often fall asleep in front of the tv during the day time. I don't know what that happens, and it's not a real deep sleep, but it's wierd.

Welcome to my world. I can't seem to sleep much, especially at night, so I often find myself dozing off during the day when I'm sitting still. Think I'm part vampire?

I don't actualy believe in the existance of vampires, but I do know that there are a lot of noctournal people who are much more awake at night time and sleep during the day. I, myself, am pretty much a night sleeper, but as I said, some times when I'm laying on the couch in front of the tv, I dose off.

I'll be tired all day then sometime around 10 pm I'll be wide awake. If I don't have to work the next day I'll often stay up till sunrise. I know, not healthy but all I do is toss and turn if I go to bed. Definitely part vampire.

growing up in the country i've never really been too scared of the dark. my brother and iwould always just stroll through the woods to meet friends (sometimes by myself) or to just go spend the night in our tree house out there.. fear of the dark just never seemed to be an issue.. plus i just always kept thinking to myself (you're bigger than what goes bump in the night) hahaha hopefully anyway lol
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!
