The Dark Knight aka Batman Begins 2

This film is coming on Friday, July 18th at the theaters, so who is going to see it? I really don't know if I would go see it.

Christian Bale returns as Bruce Wayne (Batman) and Michael Caine as the Butler. Heath Ledger as The Joker. Well, it was very sad to see Heath Ledger passed away - GONE! R.I.P. :(

I'll be there with bells on. I've always been a big Batman fan, especially since Batman Begins renewed my interest. The trailer gave me chills. From what I've seen and heard Heath Ledger is nothing short of amazing in this film.

Begins at the theaters tomorrow, July 18th! Who is going to see it?

Well, very curious to see how Batman is battling with the Joker! :D

Christian Bale returns as Bruce Wayne, alias Batman, in a sequel to the "Batman Begins" film that gave new life, and darkness, to the character. At more than 2 and half hours, it attempts to be a crime saga rather than just another in the summer's run of comic book adaptations. The cast includes Heath Ledger (as The Joker), with Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Michael Caine. Directed by Christopher Nolan.

My fiancee went out with a friend of hers yesterday evening and she told me that this movie is very awesome! She thought it was 2 hours and 30 minutes - something like that... But, she told me it was only like 2 hours and 15 minutes because she had her own watch on her wrist at the movie. :D She also stated that The Joker is so wild!

Take Luke and Vader out of The Empire Strikes Back, insert Batman and the Joker, and you have The Dark Knight!

I was not disappointed at all. Everyone in the film was excellent. The ending, very satisfactory. There were applause when it was over.

I can honestly say that Heath Ledger was not at all over hyped. He was everything I thought he'd be and more. He was funny in a very unusual way. The pencil trick was awesome

I guess I am not much of a movie person. I thought it was OK but not great. A lot of movies I see I have to watch them over and over to understand. I must be stupid.

RDM,

You didn't really like THE DARK KNIGHT that much?? Well, thought it was very good movie and people gave them the star rates: 3 and half (Almost very good!)

If there is 4 stars, then it would be very good movie!!! ;)

They say that they like this movie more than BATMAN BEGINS! So, my fiancee told me she liked that movie and it was awesome!! She told me it was better than the first film. Well, I have to wait until it comes to DVD and watch it myself. So, anyways, does this movie run pretty longer? 2 hours and half, correct?

RDM,

Don't feel bad--I have to see it again, too! It was a bit busy--too much going on in one movie. I'm planning to see it again this weekend. I saw it last Saturday, but the theater was so crowded; we had to sit up front (which I hate doing), and I had to get up twice to go to the restroom (that always sucks!).

Overall, I enjoyed the movie, but I didn't think that it was better than Batman Begins, which was a truly great movie. I simply see The Dark Knight as the second act in a great play, much like The Empire Strikes Back was in the original Star Wars trilogy--the you-know-what has definitely hit the fan! There was, however, a few sub-stories within the movie that I would have left out or done differently, IMHO.

I loved the introduction of the Joker and Two-Face, and can't wait to see more of the "traditional" Bat-villians. I'm hoping that the Penguin is in the third installment. He's one of my favs after the Joker; and he seems like a hard character to do right. I'm also a Riddler and Catwoman fan. I'd like to see any of these three or a combination thereof in Batman III.

Best,
HL

OK, I just saw it again, and enjoyed this movie-going experience much more than my prior TDK viewing last week. This time, I got there early for a good seat in the back, and made damn sure that my bladder was empty before the show began!

It is a great movie! I was so excited that I went to the Best Buy store a block away from the theater, and bought a DVD titled "Batman: Gotham Knight" with 6 animated short films. Now, I'm watching that while eating some Ben & Jerry's Half Baked. :D
