This happened to me twice in a row you guys. I'm beginning to think I should avoid bake sales. This is way too funny of a story to pass up though.

Last year in the Spring time I went to a bake sale outside of my work place, and unknowingly bought lemon cookies that I thought were sugar cookies with pink sprinkles (something like a funfetti kind of cookie.) Nope! I had the displeasure of biting into it and finding out it was lemon! Blech! At least I think it was for a good cause.

But that wasn't enough. Today they had a bake sale at my college to support the Student Senate. Well...I bought some cup cakes...thinking they were yellow cake with vanilla frosting colored purple. They were pretty, and of course purple is my favorite color, how could I pass it up? Well...I found out the hard way. I tried some of the frosting and it was raspberry...OK that was odd and I wasn't expecting it...but no big deal. Then I bit into the cake. Lemon. Ugh!

I'm just not crazy about lemon flavor at all. I prefer my vanilla and chocolate when it comes to cake. There are worse things though. Surprisingly though, I do like lemonade. I guess for me lemon shouldn't be mixed into a dessert. It should be made for a beverage or to complement a glass of iced tea.

Anyway...I guess you can say...life gave me lemons!

Second, next time you go to a bake sale, just send them to me and dont bother trying them

I'm not a big fan of lemon except for pudding.

Something about custard with lemon takes it to a new level.

Yeah I somewhat agree with Andy here. I can do lemonade or lemon iced tea, but not with dessert things. Not sure I could do the pudding either though. With pudding, I prefer butter scotch, vanilla or chocolate.

Spooky I know I"m weird, that's nothing new. I just have strange tastes is all.

There you go. You can taste test the cookies for me before I buy them.

I'm on Spooky's side in this debate. I never met a lemon I didn't love.

I have a recipe for a chicken salad I make in the summertime. It incorporates lemon yogurt and blueberries. I love that salad!

I don't know you guys, I like lemons with certain things and not with others. I guess to me that's no different than having ketchup on Ice cream. It's just not the same as ketchup on a burger or a hot dog.

exactly Witchy. Having lemon flavoring in a cake, cookie, pie or other type of sweet or custard other than iced tea or lemonade is like ketchup on ice cream to me. It just doesn't make a good combination.

And I love lemon in pretty much anything!

Funny how different people's tastes can be.
