Wow I can't believe it...
I'm 29 today! This is officially the first day of the last year of my twenties. So hard to believe, but I want to look at the occasion with a positive outlook. I'm approaching what I think will be the best decade of my life.
I'm not sure if there's a Birthdays thread or not, but Birthdays are like our own personal holidays. So why don't we discuss how you guys feel about Birthdays, and why they seem like such a joyous occasion when we're kids, and absolutely dreadful when we get older. Maybe people shouldn't think of them like that, but they should think of it as ascending into a better person with each passing year. That we've accomplished another year in the lottery of life, that we continue on strong. For some people, a Birthday is more of a blessing than ever, especially with those who fight cancer. The relay for life puts an emphasis on having more Birthdays.
Not to mention, I think Birthdays in general are becoming more popular, it's becoming a thing. A lot of companies are making birthday cake flavored cookies, poptarts, ice cream and more as they celebrate the anniversaries of their success. Even my Friskies Party Mix a treat for cats celebrates the Birthday of the popular internet icon Grumpy Cat.
So I thought I'd share this with you guys and see what you thought. And let's serve up some internet cake and internet ice cream. lol.

Happy birthday, Mau!
You aren't 30 yet, but as you look forward to that decade, you might be interested to learn that, statistically, the thirties are people's most creative decade. That's when people are "Old enough to know, and young enough to do." So you have lots to look forward to!
I have always enjoyed my birthday, which is near Christmas (the 22nd), but as an adult I have been so swept up in making Christmas happen for everyone else that my birthday has been sort of lost in the shuffle (that never happened when I was a child, as my mother made a great point of marking that day & making it special for me). I don't dread it and am grateful for every year I have here. I have several friends who did not make it as long as I have so far, and that makes me feel bad for them, although I am hopeful that they are even happier on the other side.
My sons have back-to-back birthdays, which was always a challenge when they were children, as they are four years apart. This year my older boy will be in Europe on his birthday, so I am having to do whatever I might do for him ahead of time. His brother will be at home, but we haven't yet decided how to celebrate for him.

Happy belated birthday. I hope it was a happy one.
We're the farmer's scarecrows
We scare away the birds,
We keep the farmer's corn safe
Without any words.
But when Halloween comes
We jump out of the ground
And we scare the boys and girls
When they come walking 'round.
We scare away the birds,
We keep the farmer's corn safe
Without any words.
But when Halloween comes
We jump out of the ground
And we scare the boys and girls
When they come walking 'round.

Haha! You guys are too funny. Thanks for the birthday wishes.
And I'm just trying to have a positive perspective on getting older. Although I started turning grey around 24, though it could be because I tend to worry a lot. ^^;
