Well, I have about 2000 LPs, about 80 or so 45s, and about a thousand CDs.
I'll give you the condensed version. Oh, and I also have about 50 or so 78s, some of which are over 100 years old.
From oldest to newest.
John McCormick Opera singer of the late 1800s.
Various others from the 1800s.
Classical music by:
Beethoven

Schubert
Handel
Bizet
Ravel
Bach
Rockmonov
Swing Era:
Tommy Dorsey
Jimmy Dorsey
Artie Shaw
Glen Miller
Charlie Barnette
Benny Goodman
Al Hirt
Pee Wee Hunt
Henry Mancini
and a whold host of others
Rock & Roll and other Pop
Crew Cuts

BEATLES, and lots of them
The Cars (New wave group from the late 70s and early 80s.
Various Disco selections
Tommy James and the Shondals
Gerry Pucket & the Union Gap
I have so many selections, it would take me several years just to catlogue them all. This is just a tiny taster of what I have in my collection. But I've been collecting records since I was in grammer school.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Re: What's in your music library?
My music libary is so extensive I couldn't even begin to list every title I have here on the forum.
One thing I like to do is I like to do "party mixes" with my CD recorder. I even have various holiday themed CDs, which include both top 40 songs and some holiday related songs. For instance, my Halloween themed "party mix" includes some popular Top 40 oldies, along with music from "Dark Shadows," Bach's "Tocatta & Fuge" and a gypsie song from the movie "Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man."

Re: What's in your music library?
Here goes, in no particular order of preference. Some I've had sitting around for years, but haven't listened to them in ages, as some of my musical tastes have changed:
Nine Inch Nails
Aerosmith
Maroon 5
Rob Thomas
Ours
Pete Yorn
Trans-Siberian Orchestra (Christmas)
Apocolyptica
Nickleback
AFI
Burl Ives Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Collective Soul
Live
Paramore
Some of these are my daughter's, but since I end up listening to them when we're in the car, I consider them to be in my music library. I thank God she doesn't listen to Hannah Montana, High School Musical, Jonas Brothers or Kidz Bop or I'd go completely out of my mind!

I read your list and I think I sprained my brain. Burl Ives and NIN in the same list?sueluvshalloween wrote:Here goes, in no particular order of preference. Some I've had sitting around for years, but haven't listened to them in ages, as some of my musical tastes have changed:

Re: What's in your music library?
.
I was starting to list what's currently on my iPod but that would take me till next Halloween. And that's only the full albums, not including the singles. Let's just say it runs the gamut from classical to country, rap to rock n roll, oldies to current chart toppers, electronic to acapella. Somewhat eclectic.
