And I hate to be THAT person...but a lot of the newer stuff just...doesn't appeal to me. It feels too preachy, but I shan't get into that stuff.
Although it's about twelve years old, perhaps you should watch the failed reboot of the Munsters called 1313 Mockingbird Lane.

They only made the pilot, but it stars Jerry O'Connell, Portia diRossi and Eddie Izard as Grandpa.

It's well written, witty and the sets are sumptuous to say the least.
