HAPPY GHOSTBUSTERS DAY!

There isn't any comic shows going on in our area today, but we will still be dressing up and going to the comic shop to get some new Ghostbusters items, and we will also be watching the movies and playing the video games.

Oh, I missed your post bc I was at the wedding in CA. We had a great time, and I hope you all did, too!

Somehow Ghostbusters day eluded my radar!

Murf, how was the climate in Cali?
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

The mornings were slightly overcast, and it was hazy all day on Thurs, when I arrived. But the afternoons were clear and gorgeous after that. I think the temps were maybe in the 80s? But it felt cool and sometimes downright chilly at night, at least to me, because the humidity is so low out there.

My cousin showed me terrifying pics of the fires last Jan, one of them made from her kitchen window. None of my relatives lost property, but a number of their lifelong friends lost everything. The bride confided to us that she'd had a nightmare about it the night before her wedding, which was held in her mom's backyard. She dreamed that the fires had returned and were destroying her mother's home, and in her dream she screamed, "No! It's my wedding day!"

The wedding was of course beautiful. One charming moment to me occurred when the groom's dad, a veterinarian, walked the couple's two dogs down the aisle. Both dogs had on pastel green collars that matched the bridesmaids' gowns.

Maybe her dream was her subconscious worrying about the big day, obviously most brides go into that day with a certain amount of stress and anxiety already on their plate, but then you add the destruction they witnessed back in Jan. and you can understand why it would manifest itself that way right before the wedding. Thankfully, the day went well, and everybody had a good time there.

I had a interesting conversation with my mother this weekend, we were talking about her 70th birthday coming up next month when we will be on vacation, and she onfessed to me that she fears that she is going to die on a Monday, so she gets nervous every single Monday.

The reason for this is that her father was born, married, and died on a Saturday, and she was born and married on a Monday, so she expects to follow the same pattern. If it was just her father it happened to she would just dismiss it as a single event in our family, but she knows of at least 4 other family members that the same thing happened to, so she is convinced that the same will happen to her.

I told her not to think that way, but you know how some people are, no matter what you say, she is going to believe it until the day she goes. At least I don't have to worry about that, I was born on a Tuesday, and married on a Saturday, so regardless of what day I die I won't follow that pattern!

Anyway, we will be having a small party on Fri. for the kids, and then we are leaving for Florida on Sat. to visit my grandaunt for her birthday. We will be there for a week, then we will be back here for a few days before we leave for our other vacation on the first of the month.

You probably won't hear from me for awhile, so you kids behave while I'm gone, I don't want to come back here and find that you youngins destroyed the forums while I was away.

Stay safe and healthy my friends!
