Know any reason a spirit might stay in a house? And not move on?

Well, never seen one in the haunted house, but I do saw one at my friend's house long time ago when I was invited over for sleepover there... We saw a ghost of Jamaican lady sitting on the couch smoking the weed!
It was in VA Beach. My friend told me that lady was killed by her hubby, and fled to his homeplace in Jamaic, but the cops later arrested him for murder his wife. That was sad news!

My house is supposedly haunted. I've been living there for 12 years, and I've seen no evidence of it, though.

My house is 58 years old!!!

It belongs to my grandpa. This house was first built in 1950, and my grandpa didn't buy it until in 1955. Yes, something haunts going on here! Some voices whispering around the house, door and windows shutters slamming, creaky stairway floors, and some strange noises outside!

My house was built in 1910. There has been talk of orbs, lights and s hadows that aren't supposed to be there and strange noises eminating from the upstairs bedrooms. My humble opinion is that's all it is. Talk and nothing more. I'be slept in the upstairs master bedroom since I bought the place in 1996, and I have not seen any ghosts, orbs or heard anything out of the ordinary, except for an ocassional youling cat or houling dog.
It's neat having such an old house with that kind of a rep, but I hven't seen any evidence personaly that any ghosts or spirits inhabit my house.

Yes, that's where I sleep. All I need is an old creepy sounding chime clock. I also have a fire place in my living room. It's great to sit around it on a cool October night telling tales of Mary Worth, and other ghost legends.

It sounds cool! Your place must be little haunting? Everything is old around the house?

Haunt Master, not everything in it is that old. I recently did have the bathroom and kitchen remodeled, but the upstairs bedrooms are the original plaster walls and victorian era wood work. The living room and dining room are covered over in panaling and a drop ceiling. I use the drop ceiling tiles to run all my cabling from the cable tv box to my DLP projector, but the original wooden floor is still visable. The old place also creeks and groans a lot when you walk around.
Rising Dead Man, I think it would be fun to have a bunch of us at my house for an October Halloween party. I could light a fire in the fire place and we can watch some horror flicks or tell ghost stories and the like.

That's very interesting! I would love to go and see you so let me take a look around your house!
Good idea to set your own old house into a great haunted house where everybody can come and visit there, also ask some volunteers to dress up and act in your own haunted house!
So, about my house, I will add something more later on. I'm pretty busy now.

That would be fun, but I don't know where you two are located. I'm located in Illinois, about 80 or so miles South of Chicago. My house, though old, is not really huge. It's plenty big enough for one guy to live in, and I've had my brothers and sisters over for Thanksgiving and St. Patrick's Day, though.
If we do get together, I could put something on the barbecue. But again, I don't know how far you are from me, and fuel is costly.
Haunt Master, I was wondering what you were planning to do with your house. I would like to add an old chime clock to mine.

Yes, you're right RDM! I live in VA between the city of Norfolk and Virginia Beach.
So, PK, you are from IL? I would like for you to visit
www.hauntedillinois.com and there are some good events and news there!
P.S. I will add about my house here later, but I would prefer a short story - not too long!
