I actualy did very little out in the brick yard other then cupe groups of 2500 bricks together for loading onto trucks for delivery. I worked primarely as a janitor, unless they needed bricks cubed. I cubed bricks, sweapt the floors and cleaned the toilets for $3.10 per hour. That was the minimum wage back then, which was the Summer of 1980. I enjoyed some parts of that job, but for the most part, it was a DRAG.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame

I did enjoy cubing the bricks and working out in the yard, but I hated cleanign that men's room in the shop. The place stunk like an out house all the time, and no matter how hard I tried to keep it clean, the guys int he shop allways managed to turn it into a filthy hole. The shop foreman also hated me because I'm Catholic and went to a Catholic school, so I was allways having run-ins with him. I was only there from Jan of 80 to Oct of 81, because I got so tired of that forman's "Archie Bunker" remarks about me, that I upped and quit. I took a job as a Teachers Aid a week later, and I LOVED that job.

It's really too bad the bridk yard didnt' work out, thoug. It was good physical exercise, and if I could have stayed on long enough, I might have worked myself into a higher pay scale. But then, I do lot look upon my bridk yard days with fond memories.

It's hard to get those kind of jobs any more. This recession has really taken it's toll on the construction industry.

I actualy love my present job, even though it's a bit more seddentary then the brick yard. I love taking photos, and doing video production, and I can't wait to sink my camera into the next photo shoot.

As I said, if the shop forman hadn't been such a bigoted jerk, I might have actualy liked the brick yard job. But then again, I only took that job to begin with, so I could put gas in my car and pay my tuition to College. I had all kinds of piddly little minimum wage jobs to pay my bills while I was working on my degree. It was no day at the beach, but I got my degree. I also went back to school in the fall of 98 and worked towards my Associates Degree in Computer Science.

I would love to have my own web site, and it would likely be Halloween based and contain a lot of photos, but I would not want to compete against this site. I like it too much.

The expense is my main obsticle, however.

If I had my own web site, I would likely cater more to the paranormal and haunted places then to Halloween in general. Halloween would certainlyhold a very special place in the heart of my web site, but I would want to have it so that most people would go to it year round, and not just during the Halloween season. I come here year round as do many others, but there are a lot of people who only come here in Octiber.
