Obviously, most would considered dear Henry Frankenstein and his buddies (Polidori, et al) as 'mad scientists', thus any "Frankenstein" movie would qualify, from the Universal Classics to any and all versions of the tale.

One of my favorite and one of the most disgusting 'mad scientist' flicks would be 1985's "Re-Animator" ... and if old enough, make sure you watch the unrated-version.

And I can never stress enough, the original 1933 version of H.G. Wells' "The Invisible Man" is one of the most overlooked, underappreciated horror films ever ... and a superior example of a truly MAD scientist. Claude Rains voice, telling of his planned reign of terror, is as scary as Karloff in the Monster's make-up.

Island of Lost Souls (1932) is the best adaptation of Island of Dr. Moreau

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920, 1932 & 1941) - All three of these versions are good.

City of Lost Children (1995) - This movie is not for everybody but I love it

Mary Reilly (1996) -- It's another Jekyll/Hyde movie... with Julia Roberts.
