R.I.P Sir Christopher Lee

Sad day for horror fans everywhere. What an outstanding career though! I was just watching a documentary the other day about the movie Halloween where it said he was up for the part of Dr. Loomis and he turned it down. He later went on to say that was the biggest mistake of his life. I think a Christopher Lee moviethon is due this Halloween, n'est-ce pas?

I am absolutely heartbroken as I was a huge fan. Now the overcast sky here seems appropriate.

This is going to spur me to start collecting them all, not just the ones with Sir Lee. I'm in the process of populating my 5TB drive for my media center and think these would make a great addition. Gonna be a lot of trips to the library! Hope I can finish these before Halloween. Currently ripping my Dark Shadows DVDs which I'll probably never finish.

He'll be missed, but he did have a successful life & career. I hope that can be said of all of us when we pass.

The only other celebrity death that hit me harder than this was Andrew Breitbart. That one really stung because I truly admired him and he was only a year younger than me at the time. I was depressed for days over that.

I love it! :D :D :D :D :D

If you ever come across a 1984 comedy movie called 'JOCKS' buy it. It has Christopher Lee as the president of LA College. He wants the school men's tennis team to win and laughter ensues with a fair amount of gratuitous nudity. A young Mariska Hargitay makes her film debut.

Nah. I don't think I want to see Sir Lee naked.

I'm actually having a bit of a problem finding his Hammer movies. Found a few at the library, and a few on Netflix but looks like quite a few are unavailable. There is one remaining video store in town which I'm hoping carries older movies. Fingers crossed.

I have a DVD set that are all Hammer films but they're sold under the Warner Brothers label on Amazon. They're called 4 Dracula Favorites.

Not a Hammer film, but a favorite Christopher Lee movie of mine is the Skull, with Peter Cushing in it as well.

Yeah, I put that on hold at the library. Found out last night there's still a large DVD rental place in town so I'm hoping they have older movies. I guess it's possible a lot of Hammer films never made it to DVD? Just the more popular stuff.
