its almost here
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Do you mean all the production snags it's run into, with the shoots and re-shoots and edits and re-edits, scheduled to come out last year, and moved further and further back? Or is there something specific that the director, or one of the actors did, that you personally object to?

Spooky told you? What did he tell you then? He may know but not because I explained it to him.

With all due respect why would I really care about the production process?

One of the issues I have is a movie one of the actors has made in recent years.

And the reason I have not come out with it, is that I actually want to see if anyone is aware(which apparently is not the case, and sad to be honest). And if anyone does figure it out, I am curious on how you feel about it.

witchy is referring to something completely un-related to your issue(s), it's a inside joke between a few of us here.......nothing to do with whatever issue you have with whatever actors are in this movie

I'll 'fess up here and admit that I had not read a thing about this movie, and I am usually wary of remakes and how abysmal they can be (1988's The Blob, anybody?).

I saw a commercial for it last week and was happy to see that the cast looks solid, so I might spend $10.75 and see it in glorious theatrical size instead of at home later on.

Well, from everything I've heard, the production process is the dirtiest, sleaziest thing about Hollywood.... :wink:

Okay.... Off the top of my head, Benicio Del Toro recently played Che Guevara in a movie I haven't seen yet (in my Blockbuster queue), and he was a controversial historical figure. Anthony Hopkins played a gay (or at least bi) Richard the Lionheart in The Lion In Winter, and although that may or may not have been mildly controversial at the time, it was decades ago, so it probably isn't that. Emily Blunt starred in the excellent My Summer of Love a few years back, about two girls who have a bizarre fantasy romance, which includes a fairly negative portrayal of one girl's fundamentalist Christian brother, but it's more of a statement on the brother's personal psychosis than on religion in general or Christianity in particular. And finally, Hugo Weaving starred in V for Vendetta, which was not so subtly critical of oppressive, theocratic governments, and was hailed by many as a repudiation of the previous U.S. administration, while condemned by others as condoning terrorism (in my opinion, Natalie Portman's fake English accent was the most offensive thing in the movie!!).

Without hitting the IMDB to research further cast members or other roles of the ones I've mentioned, that's all I can think of. Am I on the right track on any of them?

And before we go any further, I just want to remind everyone that "controversy" doesn't have to equal "conflict". If you don't like a particular actor because of a role they've done or a position they've taken on a issue, that's your business. I'm not looking to criticize or condemn anyone just because they have principles that they hold to, whether or not I agree with them. The only reason I'm asking (or guessing) is because I'm curious, and when someone tells me I "wouldn't understand" that only makes me extra super curious!!! :o So let's all promise to proceed with respect for one another so they don't lock up this topic and leave me dying of curiosity! :)

I know, right?!? Funny thing, though.... I put it on during my brother's Crimbo party, and no-one wanted to watch it.... :? Like strip poker is soooo much more interesting than the fierce and biting back and forth of two people who simultaneously love and loathe each other....!!! :x
