There was a lot left out in that horror movie history. The 20s, or the silent era spawned "Nosferatu," which was the very first adaptation of the Bram Stoker story of Dracula. Thomas Edison actualy produced a film based on the Frankenstein story. There were also a lot of gothic horror movies out in the 50s, 60s and 70s. They didn't mention anything about the "Dark Shadows" movies, or tv series, nor did he metion movies like "Black Christmas," which predated "Halloween," and was actualy "Halloween's" inspiration. There was "The Haunting," "The Legend of Hell House," "House on Haunted Hill," and a whold host of other flicks. "THe Omen," "Rosmary's Baby," "The Equinox," "It's Alive" and a whole host of others. NOT TO MENTION "Planet of the Apes," and all the movies and tv series spawned by that show, for Sci Fi enthusiasts.
I can go on all day. I think multiple volumes could be written on the the history of horror movies. In fact, each decade of the 20th cantury could have it's very own volume.
