Re: Rob Zombie's Halloween 2
Ill be there bright and early saturday morning to see it

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I will be at the 9:40 showing this Friday at the Carmikd Cinema in Morris. I'm still slight hopeful that I'll be able to take the bike, but rignt now it's raining "cats & dogs," and it's suppsoed to be like this until Saturday.
But like I said in another post, rain orno rain, car or motorcycle, I'm going to be there on Friday.

Re: Rob Zombie's Halloween 2
Ok, I read a brief news in the newspaper about this HALLOWEEN II.
Just when we thought we'd outlived Michael Myers and the mindless slasher jolts of his endless series, here he comes again, proving that the studio will drain every last dime out of this B-budget franchise, even if it has to start all over in the count. This must, actually, be "Halloween 35", or maybe it just seems like that. For those who will pay to see the same movie over and over, here's Michael, as directed by Rob Zombie.

man, that news paper should really think about re hiring a new staff... the writer talks about the movie like he's someone important.... too bad that the movie and nearly everyone to do with it will probably rake in more money on this one film than he will in the next 10 years.... good money for B class franchise huh? lets ask this, what is an A class franchise?

I'm also guessing the writer didn't realize there's a whole new generation of people who never saw the originals. Think of all the movies you've seen that were remakes of movies from your parent's time.

No thanks. I'm having enough trouble dealing with all the remakes of movies that were out in the theatres in MY OWN TIME.

Ha ha! You sound just like my folks. We'd get all excited about some new movie we saw and they would refuse to watch em because they were a terrible remake of a movie they saw when they were younger. The cycle of life rolls on and on.Pumpkin_Man wrote: No thanks. I'm having enough trouble dealing with all the remakes of movies that were out in the theatres in MY OWN TIME.

Actualy I'm proud of my age. I just couldn't resist a little joke about it.
The problem with a remake is that the original telling of the story had a greter impact the first time it's experienced. Rob Zombie didn't do a remake. He did a retelling or rather a variation on an old story. The first "Halloween" he did was more of a prequil, that told us the story of how and when Michael Myers became the monster that we all knew and loved. In his rendition of "Halloween 2" you have a whole new twist to the Michael Myers saga, which I don't want to give away while it's still playing in the theatres. But I will say that I saw it last Friday, and I am not sorry. It was well worth the money, and a very good flick.

Re: Rob Zombie's Halloween 2
It was quite okay.... but I do prefer RZ's original HALLOWEEN the best than this second part.
That's terribly... not some scenes just like classic Halloween 2 that was directed by John Carpenter's. It was like almost all the way off topic, you know? So, I am not really complaining about RZ's remakes, except his own "The Devil's Rejects".
Even, "House Of 1000 Corpses". Still, I do like RZ.

Re: Rob Zombie's Halloween 2
iHaunt, I don't see the RZ production of "Halloween" and "Halloween 2" as a remake per se, but more of a retelling. Just like "Dracula" and "The Wolf man." There have been all kinds of movies made ove the years that were based on Bram Stokers book, "Dracula." Some were better then others. Some had excelent cinematography. Most people, myself included will agree that Bela Lugosi was the QUINTESENTIAL Count Dracula, but that does not mean that the Dan Curtis production of "Dracula," and the Hammer production of "Dracula," or the more recent "Bran Stokers Dracula" that was out in theatres back in the late 90s, were remakes. They were retellings, or new renditions. That's the way I look at the new "The Wolf Man" and the RZ renditions of "Halloween." John Carpenter created a legend with his first telling of the Michael Myers story. Rob Zombie took that legend, and told us how and where it all began in his first effort, and then took it to new heights in his 2nd installment.
It's all a different mind set. If you were expecting the EXACT SAME STORY and THE EXACT SAME MOVIE with newer cars and props and what have you, they you were dissappointed. It's the mind set.

Re: Rob Zombie's Halloween 2
I wasn't complaining about different story, different scenes, different characters/actors and so on... I guess they make something to look more new... you know? By retelling the story isn't bothering me, really.... I am pretty satifised.
