Re: Zombieland (2009)
I love this movie, I think it is on the same level as Shaun of the Dead in hilarity alone.

Yup. I'm still waiting to hear a word about "Zombieland 2". The last time rumors about the second part of Zombieland will hit theaters in 2011.

Early reports coming out that the Zombieland series is a go and will air on Amazon Prime. Hope this is so.

That was fast!
You can watch the pilot for 'Zombieland: The Series' right now for free if you have an Amazon account.

In fact, all 14 of their pilots are free and you can tell them which ones you like. If a show is approved by the people, they will keep on producing it.

Re: Zombieland (2009)
Well... seems Amazon has decided not to pick up the series. People hated it.

Re: Zombieland (2009)
I hate to say it, but I think zombies have been done to death. I would like to see more traditional gothic style horror stories about witches, ghosts, vampires, wearwolvs and creepy old houses with homicidal maniacs living in them.
Or, maybe a good Science Fiction story about the discovery of intelligent life on another planet, to scratch that 'old school' Sci Fi itch of mine, too.

Re: Zombieland (2009)
I agree 100%, Mike. Not a fan of zombies here. My daughter (16) has remarked that, to her, zombies are the most boring of all horror monsters. They can't think, they lumber around, and they don't really do anything except try to munch your face off.
I have to imagine that, in the wildly popular zombie TV shows/movies of recent years, writers are trying to do something more creative with them. Maybe they are using them as a way to ask philosophic questions about death or something. But my daughter and I tried to watch a French movie that actually did that (Les Revenants, I believe it was called), and it, too, bored us silly.

Re: Zombieland (2009)
I look at zombies as an allegory to our society, where everyone just plods along playing their part. 'World War Z', the movie, had an interesting twist on it. The zombies are a living virus, seeking out a new host to infect. I agree though ... zombies are getting played out, but I still though I love 'The Walking Dead'!

Re: Zombieland (2009)
Well, I do have to make a little confession here. I really did like the original "Night of the Living Dead" when I saw it for the first time, and I also got into "Walking Dead" for a little while, but my reaction to the word "zombie" is pretty much that of boredom any more. Like I said, I personaly would love to see more 'old school' gothic style horror stories made into movies, but that's just me. Halloween, at least for me, is a time of ghosts, witches, vampires, creepy old haunted houses, wearwolvs, Frankenstein monsters, Dr Jeckyl & Mr. Hydes, and everything else of that ilk. Maybe a few alien invasions along the way, but for me, Halloween is about supernatural horror.
