How to determine best costume?

I'm having a costume party for adults with prizes for Sexiest, Scariest and Most Creative costumes, but I don't know how to pick and announce the winners.

I think it might seem too cheesy to announce that it's time to start voting, but if I don't then I'm not sure how people will know who won. Also I don't know if it will make more sense to have ballots or just appoint a judge. My house has small rooms and no basement so I don't think I'll be able to fit everyone in one room for a big judging event.

Any ideas?

hmmm...maybe you could just take a small carboard box with a slit in the top, like for a raffle, and then you could have a bunch of little scraps of paper, where everyone wrote down who they thought were the Sexiest, Scariest, and Most Creative, but they can't vote for themself. they would all be in different rooms so they couldn't share opinions, just do whatever THEY thought. then you, being the host (right?) would walk around with the cardboard box and tell people to stick the scraps in the slit, and you tally up the winners withouht telling who voted for who. then you just go around every room and announce the winners. no megaphone should be needed.
