The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is a 2003 fantasy film set in an alternate late 19th century era and is about a group of extraordinary individuals, who are based on fictional characters from classic novels. The movie is loosely based on the first volume of the comic book series of the same name by Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill. They act as Victorian Era superheroes who embark on a secret mission to prevent a world war from taking place. These unique individuals include a vampire, an invisible man, Captain Nemo, Tom Sawyer, Allan Quatermain and more.
So, who else here has seen this film and what do you think about it?

We have that one in our collection somewhere. My husband saw it and really liked it. I was less enthusiastic but thought it was an interesting conceit. I didn't know, or had forgotten, that it was based on a comic book or graphic novel.

Meh... the movie was OK, the original comics were way better. The source material usually is.

I wish they would have made a sequel to the film, but they never did. They had the ending set up like the were going to though. Sean Connery is in retirement now and too much time has passed.
