Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I don't put lights up outside because I don't like to have to take them down when it's below zero, and in January, it often is. My first Christmas decorations, which I put up on the night before Thanksgiving, are Christmas Table Cloths on the table. Then on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, I assemble the Advent Wreath, and put up a couple of strings of lights inside. One over my fire place and one in my dining room. The tree goes up usualy on the 2nd Saturday in December, then I palce a few miscellenous decorations around the house, and that's pretty much it.

Everything comes down and gets packed away for the year on the either New Years Day, or the day after.

last year I put up those small Christmas tree lights you put on a tree, I hung 4 strands around the outside of the house along the eve's. They were something like 0.99c so when I got a letter from the HOA to take them down or else be fined I went out side, grabbed one end and pulled them all down ripping the &%^$ out of them and I tossed them in the trash.......quick, simple, and easy......took all of about 5min.
