getting the itch again!

Post by Spookymufu » Sun Mar 22, 2015 12:48 pm

okay, as Haunt X is approaching I have been getting the itch to start building and I have decided I am going to build a casket (not coffin) out of pink foam. You might remember my foam half (groundbreaker) coffin I built last Halloween and I plan to do something similar but in a modern casket.....any thoughts?

I pretty much have it all worked out in my head how I want to do it but I was curious if any of you have done this before?

I was curious how you could make styrofoam look smooth without it getting too heavy so I found this. Think it could work?

I'll be using pink dense foam sheets, it's so carveable and lightweight and you can sand it glass smooth.

I can build it like I would with real wood but with foam, and use glue thats made just for bonding pink/blue foam together

I'll also need to hard coat it, I'm leaning towards dryloc but I havent settled on anything just yet.
